Golan Sion Creek Red. Vintage 2017
Alcohol : 14.0%
Size : 750 ml
The 2017 Sion Creek Red shows off a great combination of characters: strawberry, rasperry, floral and spice. The wine’s lighter body and attractive fruit notes make it a great everyday drinking red.
We like Sion Creek Red with many different foods. Try along with grilled salmon topped with a fresh salsa crude or a crispy thin-crust pizza or a good juicy burger.Sion Creek Red is best enjoyed within a couple of years of the vintage. The 2017 Golan Sion Creek Red continues our tradition of a unique blend of red varieties that includes Sangiovese, Syrah, Gamay Noir, Pinot Noir and small amounts of Nebbiolo and Napa Gamay. The result is a complex, yet utterly friendly, easy drinking red wine.
Growth Area
The Galilee (or Galil) is the most northern, and generally considered the best, appellation in Israel. The highest quality area within the appellation is the Golan Heights (or simply the Golan), the coldest region in Israel. The vineyards on this volcanic plateau rise from 400 meters (1,300 feet) above sea level to 1,200 meters (3,900 feet) and receive snowfall in the winter. The Golan Heights Winery is located in the town of Katzrin, in the central Golan.
